Pleasures of Small Motions: Mastering the Mental Game of Pocket Billiards
by: Bob Fancher Ph.D., Robert T Fancher
The whole book was spent trying to explain a concept...duh, as if we didn't get it the first time. It is a well known concept that is used in many areas of skill and was nothing new. The explanations weren't even good. I tossed it.

The Science of Pocket Billiards
by: Jack H. Koehler
I found this book very helpful! It's easy to understand, and has a large variety of both exercises and practice drills. It's clearly written and not so long as to be daunting to get through.

Advanced Pocket Billiards
by: Rick Enriquez
Regarding pool playing, I'm still basically a beginner who's been dabbling at the game for the past eight months, during which time I've been simultaneously collecting BOOKS about our beloved sport. I currently own 55 titles, the most recent acquisition being this curious, evidently obscure, oversized paperback.

Win at Pocket Billiards
by: Desomd Allen
Although this book's title doesn't really indicate it's true contents, it is certainly a clear and concise guide to "the diamond system" and 1, 2, and 3 rail kicks for the advanced pool player.
Contrary to a few other reviews I have read about this book on this site, I feel the shot descriptions and illustrations are very easy to follow and understand. One reviewer complained about the lack of explanation of concepts like running/reverse english, and that is true. The author tells you right up front that you need to already be familiar with the concept of english, as well as terms like long rail, short rail, and extended diamond, but he also explains them in the included glossary for you.
